Chris Caruana, a Grand Island pilot, perished in an aircraft accident at the age of 35. Caruana took off from a small Niagara County airstrip near Lake Ontario on Sunday afternoon.
As he flew north, the enthusiastic pilot made a low pass over Shear Airport, ascending and making a slow left turn. When he yelled an obscenity over the radio, his jet made a sudden left turn.

Chris, who was flying a two-seat plane, collided with trees and power lines before falling into a field near Braley Road in Porter. Caruana was also declared dead at the scene, according to state police.
According to National Transportation Safety Board investigator Aaron McCarter, the interval between when the jet took off and when it crashed was around 15 seconds.
Some witnesses reported hearing and seeing a section of the plane fall from the sky seconds before the plane collided with some trees. Not to add that the collision occurred at 3:08 p.m.
