Through his phone, Neves saw the birth of their third kid.
Lourenco traveled to Portugal to give birth to their third child on January 30, 2021, but Neves was unable to accompany her since he may have missed the matches owing to quarantine laws, and he didn’t want to miss matches. Though he was not there, he witnessed her birth through Skype after sitting on the bench during the game against Crystal Palace. Neves claimed he saw it on his phone on the way back from Crystal Palace and stated it was difficult for him to miss such an incredible occasion.
He also explained why they decided to have a kid in Portugal. He claims that Lourenco had difficulty with their first child and that they always wanted the same doctor, who is from Portugal, for her. He said that it is his duty to play and that he would rather be there than miss two or three games.
Margarida, the couple’s first child, was born in 2017, the same year Neves joined the Wolves. Neves traveled to Portugal the day after the opening day of the season to be with Lourenco at the moment of her birth. When asked about fatherhood, he said that it is a fantastic emotion that cannot be defined in words, and it is also one of the finest things one can do.
His parents’ trust in him to develop and learn quickly helped mold who he is now.
Mr. and Mrs. Jose Neves, Neves’ parents, were born in Mozelos. He grew up in a middle-class family with his younger sister, Vanessa. Neves, an FC Porto supporter, joined the club’s youth system when he was eight years old. He made his first-team debut at the age of 17 and, at the age of 18, became the youngest captain in Champions League history, helping Porto to a 2-0 win against Maccabi Tel Aviv before joining Wolverhampton Wanderers. He has played in almost 200 games in England, winning the EFL title in his debut season.
At the age of 18, he made his senior international debut for Portugal. Neves attributes his mature nature to his parents and claims that he has always been like way. He said he was always this way due to his parents, who gave him the duty of growing and learning quickly. According to him, his father left for three years to work in Spain when he was nine years old, and he only saw him once a month, which was terrible. He was in Portugal with his mother and younger sister, which most likely contributed to his personality. He had the idea that he had to take care of them, which produced maturity at an early age.
