Every fan of the 1960’s TV series “Gilligan’s Island” remembers Ginger Grant, the sexy and alluring actress played by Tina Louise. Decades later, the actress has still got the beautiful looks.

Louise hit the Broadway stage in “Lil Abner” when she was a teenager. She was later cast in the movie “God’s Little Acre” after Hollywood executive witnessed her performance and saw potential in her. Her role as Griselda Walden was so exceptional that she won a Golden Globe as Best Promising Newcomer.

The actress was later cast in comedy sitcom “Gilligan’s Island” and she is best known for her role as the sultry Hollywood actress Ginger Grant in the series that ran for three seasons.

Her extraordinary personality and impeccable acting skills earned her the TV Land Pop Culture Icon Award in 2004.

MORE THAN JUST AN ACTOR

Acting isn’t the only thing that is in Louise’s list of talents--she was voiceover artist for a MegaJackpot gaming machine, a singer who recorded an album titled “It’s Time for Tina”, and a written who has written several children’s books including “When I Grow Up, What Does A Bee Do?” and “Sunday A Memoir.”

Besides that, Louise is involved in a non-profit organization called “Learning Leaders” through which she advocates literacy and tutors young children in New York City.

Although she rose to fame with her role on the CBS comedy sitcom, Louise does not like to dwell on it. In an interview with Forbes, the actress said that she doesn't like going back to her past.

“I can’t deal with going back. I like now,” she said.

However, Louise admitted that she appreciates the fact that fans love the series.

“I respect the fact that people like it so much. I understand that for myself – when you need diversion, you need diversion,” she said.
