Every week, as part of Amazon’s Thursday Night Football coverage, former NFL player Marshawn Lynch gives the audience a taste of the culture of the city or area where the game is being played. This time around, the retired tailback made a layover in Intercourse, Pennsylvania, popularly known as ‘Amish Country.’
During the game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday, Lynch’s show ‘N Yo’ City took everyone on a journey through the lives of the Amish people. He could be seen tackling a variety of tasks that the locals perform in their everyday lives.
It’s fair to say Lynch was not prepared for the things he was about to encounter. The former Seattle Seahawks player undeniably went through a culture shock.
And the most interesting part of the video was when the residents took Lynch to a farm and asked him to milk cows. The California natives’ instant response was,“Hell no. This ain’t the kind of place you go with your sneakers on.”
Then he looked around for a moment to acclimate himself to the atmosphere. Later, he entered a barn and saw an electric lamp hanging from the ceiling. Lynch’s host for the day told him that “it’s wireless,” explaining that it has an LED bulb. He replied, “Man, you Amish people think y’all are slick, but y’all be cuttin’ corners.”
Next, Lynch saw a girl milking one of the cows. He posed a question to his host about the process. “You said you gotta do that [milking] until five galons come out of there!” he inquired, to which she replied, “per milking.”
“So if you pull one of them, then it’s all pulling from the same?” he asked. Her reply was “all at the same time,” which shocked Lynch. “All four of them? How the fu** do you do? How many fu**ing hands do you got baby?”

Marshawn Lynch visited his old hood in Buffalo
His association with the Amazon show has taken Marshawn Lynch to several places, including his favorite Applebee’s in Buffalo. The Bills drafted Lynch as the 12th overall pick in 2007. The 37-year-old played four seasons and loved to hang out with friends in the nearby restaurants.
Lynch went back to the same place in 2021. His first impression walking through the doors was, “Even after all this time, it’s still the same ambiance and the same decor.”
He even had to pour his own drink, like in the old days. “Yep, that’s just as I remember it,” he said while mixing several different types of sodas into one glass. Lynch named it “keeping it real.”
The episode was like an insight into his past. Even though a lot of time has passed, Marshawn Lynch remains the same guy who can entertain. If Amazon plays its cards correctly, it can make this show into a travel documentary.
